THE LAUNCH OF HOPE FOR HOME
THE LAUNCH OF HOPE FOR HOME

Official Launch of Hope for Home.

The official launch of Hope for Home took place on Thursday  14th May 2009  at St Michael's Church Hall, Pond Road, Blackheath, London, SE3.

Over 135 supporters joined us for the evening, and the atmosphere resembled that of a party!

Thelma Harvey, the Chair of the charity, welcomed everyone and emphasised how important it was that Hope for Home had an enthusiastic group of people who helped to shape the charity and who supported the Trustees as the organisation grew and developed over time.

Sarah Burnard outlined how the charity started and what it hoped to achieve. John Blowey then talked movingly about how he and his family cared for his father, Albert, who had dementia, at home.

Adrian Treloar then spoke about his research findings about care of people with dementia at home, and about some of the issues that carers face.

This formal session ended with questions and answers from the audience, and guests were then invited to continue to enjoy food and wine, and to meet others.
