OUR LAUNCH - 14TH MAY 2009.
Over 135 suppporters joined us for our national launch in Blackheath, South East London on 14th May at 7.30pm. Ages ranged from 6 years old to some people aged over over 86 .
The atmosphere resembled that of a large party, as guests enjoyed food and wine before gathering to listen to several speakers.

Preparation for the Day- The Cooks!
A team of our volunteers had been working hard to prepare and plan the day for many months.
All the food was prepared by volunteers too, and as the numbers of guests began to rise steadily, from an initial estimate of about 30 people...into the hundreds over time, so the cooks tried not to panic!

An early morning start for two of our volunteer cooks!

....and then....Mission Accomplished!
The Evening
After having a chance to meet others, the guests assembled to listen to the speakers for the evening. John Blowey talked about looking after his father Albert, at home (read his testimony under "Your Testimonies).
Our main speaker was our Trustee, Dr Adrian Treloar, who talked about his recent research and his experience of working with people who have dementia and their families and friends, both in hospital and at home.
Afterwards, guests were invited to ask questions, and they were then asked to continue to stay and to meet others if they so wished.

The party atmosphere continued as guests met one another, and continued to enjoy themselves and to talk about what they had heard.

We hope to have more social occasions in future, and we would like to thank all those people who took the time and trouble to come along and help us launch Hope for Home.
