Volunteer and Events Organiser
Part time post: fixed term until January 2011 (may be reviewed according to ongoing funding opportunities)
Salary range: £20,710 - £26,839 per annum pro rata depending on experience
Hours: 15 hours per week - flexible working
Location: home based, but will need to travel to Blackheath to meet regularly with the Managing Director of Hope for Home
Hope for Home is a new, small charity dedicated to supporting people with dementia or advanced Parkinson’s disease by providing support and advice to them and their carers who are looking after them at home. Hope for Home provides advice via its website and email and telephone; we do not provide home carers.
We have now reached a point where we need someone to help organise volunteers and events in order to expand the work of the charity. This new role is an opportunity for you as an advocate of caring for loved ones at home to share that passion with the people who volunteer to help Hope for Home. Working hours are flexible and this post will involve occasional evening and weekend work.
You will be a self starter who can quickly build relationships so the ability to work on your own initiative is essential along with excellent communication skills. You will have experienced caring for people with dementia or Parkinson’s disease in a personal or professional capacity. You will have a proven track record of managing volunteers and of organising and managing events.
